Sherry received her CPA license in 1987. From that time forward, she has remained in public accounting working closely with small to medium sized businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Areas of specialization include construction contractors, real estate development companies and audits of not-for-profit organizations.
Her vast experience in working with small businesses has led Sherry to write her first book “60 Common Mistakes Made by Small Business Owners” due for publication in January 2019. Her book discusses common pitfalls experienced by many small business owners and their underlying causes. The book offers proven solutions for overcoming these pitfalls as well as steps to avoid them altogether.
Community involvement has been a priority for Sherry. She is currently Treasurer and an officer of the board of Save Starlight, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to restoring and reopening the Starlight Bowl in Balboa Park.
Other charitable activities, past and present, include various committee and board appointments with the American Heart Association, American Cancer Association, the Natomas Community Association, United Way and the Small Business Roundtable. She is also a long-time member of the American Society of CPA’s and California Society of CPA’s.
